Weather-Related Shipping Delays: What You Need to Know
Christopher VanderReydenShare
Severe winter weather across parts of the United States is currently affecting shipping operations for major carriers. While these conditions are outside of anyoneβs control, we want to keep you informed about how they may impact your order and what to expect in the coming days.
Carrier Updates at a Glance
FedEx
FedEx has activated weather contingency plans in response to ongoing winter storms. Some shipments may experience delays as conditions affect both ground and air operations. As is standard during severe weather events, carrier service guarantees may be temporarily suspended, and delivery timelines can shift even after an order has shipped.
UPS
UPS has reported widespread impacts across portions of the Midwest, South, and Northeast due to severe winter weather. In some areas, pickup and delivery services are temporarily unavailable, while other regions may see delays. UPS has also noted that disruptions at major air hubs can slow deliveries nationwideβeven in locations not directly affected by the storms.
In all cases, carriers emphasize that employee safety is the top priority and that contingency plans are in place to restore service as quickly as possible. Weather-impacted shipments are not covered under standard service guarantees.
What This Means for Your Order

- Extended transit times after shipment
- Temporary service interruptions in certain regions
